Now that we have discussed the ingredients you will need, it’s time to dive into the recipe. This recipe is easy and quick, taking less than 25 minutes to make. Let’s get started on this delicious pasta dish.

1. Cook Pasta

Start by cooking the pasta according to package directions in a pot of salted boiling water. While the pasta cooks, cut the boneless skinless chicken breasts into strips and season with salt and pepper.

2. Prepare Chicken and Mushrooms

In a large skillet or wok, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped garlic and sauté for 30 seconds before adding in the chicken strips. Cook the chicken for 2-3 minutes until browned on all sides, then remove them from the pan.

In the same pan, add more olive oil and sliced portabella mushroom caps. Sauté until tender, then add back in the cooked chicken.

3. Make White Wine Sauce

Pour white wine into the pan with chicken and mushrooms and let it cook down for a couple of minutes to reduce and allowing all flavors to meld together. Then add in Worcestershire sauce, stirring well to combine.

4. Mix The Pasta With The Recipe

Once the sauce is ready, reduce heat to low and add cooked pasta directly into the skillet with the chicken mushroom mixture. Toss everything together until pasta is coated in sauce thoroughly.

A simple yet sophisticated meal for any occasion.

One of the best things about this pasta with chicken, mushrooms, and garlic-wine sauce recipe is that it’s highly customizable. You can substitute or add different ingredients to create new flavors and textures. Here are some ideas:

– Instead of boneless, skinless chicken breasts, try using chicken thighs, chicken strips, or even tofu for a vegetarian version.

– If you don’t have portobello mushroom caps, you can use regular button mushrooms, shiitakes or oyster mushrooms for a different earthy flavor.

– For added creaminess, swap out half of the white wine with heavy cream or use a creamy white wine.

– If you’re not a fan of white wine, try using dry Riesling or red wine instead. The flavor profile changes dramatically when you switch up the wine selection. Just keep in mind that more robust wines pair better with heartier meats like beef and lamb.

– Experiment by adding other star ingredients such as artichoke hearts, sauteed bell peppers, fresh parsley, or cooked peas to the mix. These ingredients will give an extra pop of color to your dish and kick things up a notch.

The key with substitutions and variations is to be creative! Try different combinations until you find the one that suits your taste buds perfectly.

Cooking is an act of love, and like every expression of love, it requires patience and attention to details. In this recipe, a pasta dish with chicken, mushrooms, and garlic-wine sauce, the flavors blend harmoniously with each other to create a delicious and easy-to-make meal that you can prepare at home without sacrificing your time or your taste buds.

To ensure the perfect results that this dish deserves, here are some tips to guide you through the process:

1. Use boneless skinless chicken breasts cut in half or chicken strips

Chicken breasts may seem like a straightforward ingredient to work with, but they require proper handling to become juicy and flavorful. Cut them in half or into strips to cook them evenly and shorten their cooking time.

2. Season your chicken

Season your chicken with salt and pepper before cooking it. Doing so will enhance its flavor and create a tastier final result.

3. Sautee the mushrooms

Sauteed mushrooms add depth and earthiness to dishes. Cook them over medium heat in olive oil or butter until they soften and turn golden brown.

4. Choose the right wine for the sauce

White wine is suggested for making this cream sauce recipe. Try dry Riesling which pairs nicely with creamy mushroom chicken pasta. Be careful not to boil the wine after you pour it into the pan–letting it reduce for approximately 2-3 minutes should be sufficient.

5. Follow the recipe directions when cooking your pasta

Make sure that you follow the package instructions on how to cook your pasta—especially when it comes to timing—to avoid overcooking or undercooking it. The perfect al dente texture is what you should aim for: firm but tender.

By following these tips, you’ll create a creamy white wine sauce that blends well with softened portabella mushroom caps and fragrant garlic. Plus, you’ll have perfectly cooked chicken that’s slightly salted and paired with pasta made perfectly al dente. This dish is a surefire hit when it comes to ease of preparation and unbeatable flavor!

Don’t worry; I have anticipated some of your concerns and compiled them into a Frequently Asked Questions section to help you make the most out of this dish. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about cooking this fantastic meal.

What wine goes with chicken and mushroom pasta?

I’d like to kick things off by recommending a Chardonnay that has been oak-aged and comes from a region with a warm climate like Pouilly-Fuisse in France, Margaret River in Australia, or Gisborne in New Zealand. And for those who prefer red wine, a great option would be a Malbec from Cahors, France or Mendoza, Argentina.

What wine goes with chicken and mushrooms in cream sauce?

When it comes to pairing light white wines such as sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio, semillon, or chardonnay with food, it is best to stick to delicately flavored dishes such as light cream sauces, simple sautés, or lightly seasoned mushroom dishes.

How to cook pasta with chicken breast and mushrooms?

As I sizzle some butter in my pan, I can already smell the earthy and rich aroma of mushrooms. Once the butter starts to bubble, I toss in the mushrooms and cook them until they turn a beautiful golden hue. Now, it’s time to bring out the wine. Adding it to the pan enhances the flavor profile of the dish, and I just love the way that the fragrance fills the air.

As I watch the wine evaporate and reduce down, I slowly pour in the chicken stock. The liquids combine and mingle together beautifully. It’s at this point that the dish really comes together. To thicken the sauce, a generous dollop of cream is added, and I let it simmer on low heat until it reaches the consistency I desire.

As a lover of cheesy flavors, I reach for some grated parmesan and sprinkle it into the mix. A handful of freshly chopped parsley is added next, followed by a dash of seasoning to fully enliven the dish’s flavors. Finally, I stir in some cooked pasta and tender chicken strips to make it a complete and satisfying meal. My taste buds water as I enjoy the hearty, creamy plate of pasta.

What wine is best for cooking mushroom sauce?

When it comes to pairing with a fruity red wine, there are some surprising options available. A Pinot Noir from the New World or a young Tempranillo can work quite well. For a lighter dish, I would recommend a dry Riesling. However, if soy sauce is a key ingredient, then I’d suggest opting for a semi-dry Riesling instead.

Bottom Line

This pasta with chicken, mushrooms, and garlic-wine sauce recipe is a must-try for any food enthusiast. You will love the creamy and savory flavors that come together in each bite, as the wine sauce perfectly complements the chicken and mushrooms.

For wine pairing, a dry Riesling is ideal for this dish as it balances the creaminess of the sauce and complements the earthy flavors of the mushrooms. However, if you prefer a red wine, try pairing this dish with pinot noir, as it also pairs well with mushrooms.

Not only is this recipe easy to make, but it’s highly versatile too. You can make substitutions and variations depending on your personal preferences, making it an ideal meal for any occasion. This dish can be prepared in less than 25 minutes without a trip to the store since most ingredients in the recipe are pantry staples.

In conclusion, this pasta with chicken, mushrooms, and garlic-wine sauce recipe is a simple yet sophisticated dish that anyone can make in their own kitchen effortlessly. With the right wine pairing, this dish could become your new go-to meal for dinner parties or even just an easy weeknight dinner. Give this recipe a try and savor every bite!

Pasta With Chicken, Mushrooms, and Garlic-Wine Sauce Recipe

Simple ingredients make this good for busy nights. This dish is one of my specialties, and since finding the recipe on a pasta box years ago, I've been changing and refining it to this final product. This recipe makes enough for 3 or 4 servings, but it is easily doubled or tripled for a crowd. The computer didn't recognize the pasta mix, but I've used both Near East and Pasta Roni brands with the same result.
