Behold, the Saudi version of champagne!
Behold, the Saudi version of champagne!

If you want to switch things up a bit or if you find some ingredients in the original recipe hard to come by, here are some substitutions and variations that you can try out:

– Instead of oranges, you can use grapefruits, tangerines, or even mandarins. This will give your Saudi Champagne a different citrusy twist.

– Apples are the main star of this recipe but you can also experiment with other fruits like pears or peaches. Just make sure to pick good quality ones that are perfect for juicing.

– If fresh mint leaves are not available in your area, you can use bottled mint extract instead. Just add a few drops until you achieve the desired taste.

– For those who prefer a sweeter drink, you can add a bit of caster sugar to the apple juice before mixing it with the sparkling water.

– If you want a version that is more adult-friendly or more celebratory, you can transform this non-alcoholic beverage into an actual champagne cocktail by substituting sparkling water with champagne. This version is perfect for special occasions, intimate gatherings or even romantic dinners.

Remember these substitutions are just examples, feel free to recreate Saudi Champagne with your own personal touch depending on what fits your taste buds best.

Serving and Pairing

Toast to a unique and sweet taste of Arabia.

Saudi Champagne is a non-alcoholic, refreshing beverage that is perfect for any gathering or celebration. It’s light and bubbly texture, combined with fresh fruits and mint leaves, make it a great pairing for a variety of dishes, especially those that are sweet and savory.

When serving Saudi Champagne, it’s important to chill it properly so that the bubbles maintain their fizz. Fill your glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled sparkling water, apple juice, soda or any fizzy drink over them for an even more refreshing experience. Add slices of fresh oranges, apples, and lemons in the glass to give it an eye-catching appearance.

For pairing a sweet dish, try serving with fresh fruit salad or light desserts like macarons or cupcakes. This will help balance out the sweetness of the dish and enhance the fruit flavors in the champagne.

For savory dishes, serve with Middle Eastern appetizers like hummus, pita breads or Arabic specialties like kabsa or mandi to create a fusion of flavors on your plate.

Overall, Saudi Champagne should be paired with lighter dishes as it has less body than most alcoholic beverages. Its fruity aroma and spritzy flavor add a touch of elegance to any meal making it one of my favorite non-alcoholic drinks.

Make-Ahead, Storing and Reheating

If you want to enjoy your Saudi Champagne later, you can make it ahead of time by preparing the apple juice and keeping it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also squeeze the lemon and orange juices and keep them separately in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

When ready to serve, just mix all the ingredients together, add ice cubes and enjoy your refreshing non-alcoholic beverage.

If you have any leftovers, you can store them in a covered container in the fridge for up to 2 days. However, keep in mind that the mint leaves will wilt over time, so it’s best to remove them before storing.

Reheating is not recommended as it affects the flavor and sparkling texture of the drink. It’s best served chilled or over ice.

This recipe is perfect for large gatherings or parties. You can make a big batch ahead of time and store it in a punch bowl or pitcher with ice cubes on the side, allowing guests to serve themselves throughout the night.

Overall, this recipe is versatile when it comes to make-ahead and storage options, making it an ideal choice for any occasion.

Tips for Perfect Results

To ensure that your Saudi Champagne recipe turns out perfectly, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

1. Use good quality ingredients: Since this recipe requires only a few simple ingredients, it is important to ensure that they are fresh and of good quality. The apples, oranges, and mint should be ripe and the apple juice should be 100% pure juice without any added sugars or preservatives.

2. Chill all ingredients: To achieve the perfect refreshing non-alcoholic beverage, make sure that all your ingredients are chilled before you make this recipe. Refrigerate the sliced apples, oranges, and mint leaves for at least an hour before using them. Chill the apple juice and sparkling water for an hour or two before making the drink.

3. Use Club Soda instead of Sparkling Water: If you prefer a sweeter beverage, replace sparkling water with club soda. Club soda contains sweeteners which enhances the overall flavor of the drink.

4. Experiment with other fruits: While this recipe calls for apples and oranges, feel free to experiment with other types of fruit such as strawberries, blueberries or grapes to add some variation.

5. Add sugar only if necessary: Since the apple juice is already naturally sweet, adding additional sugar may not be needed. However, if you find the drink too sour or bitter for your liking, try adding some caster sugar to taste.

By following these tips, your saudi champagne drink will turn out perfectly every time.

This can be made and served immediately but I prefer it to be allowed to stand before adding the perrier water so that the flavors of mint, orange and apple are allowed to infuse well to give you this lovely refreshing drink.
