Now, let’s dive into how to make this delicious chicken white wine with fresh herb sauce recipe.

Preparing the Chicken

To start with, we need 8 pieces of chicken, either the thighs or breasts white meat or a mixture of both. First, preheat your oven to 375°F.

Then, in a small bowl combine, 1 ½ teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning. Mix well and set aside.

Now place the chicken pieces skin side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in a large oven safe dish. Drizzle 2 tablespoons olive oil over the chicken and rub each piece evenly with the seasoning mixture.

Roast the chicken uncovered in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.

Making the White Wine Sauce

In a medium sized skillet over medium heat, heat 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons olive oil until melted. Add in 4 cloves minced garlic and sauté for a minute until fragrant.

Next, add 1 cup dry white wine to the skillet along with fresh herbs like sage, thyme or rosemary. Bring to a boil then allow it to simmer until reduced by half (about 5-7 minutes).

Then add 1 cup chicken broth to the skillet and simmer again until it’s reduced by half (about 8-10 minutes).

To finish off the sauce add more fresh chopped herbs like basil or parsley if desired. Give it one final stir before setting it aside for serving.

Serving

Take out your roasted chicken breasts or thighs from the oven and drizzle some of that delicious white wine herb sauce over them before serving.

This dish is great when paired with pasta, lemon butter veggies or even bread slices to soak up all that goodness.

As a suggestion, for more variety try braised chicken thighs with mushroom sauce or garlic herb creamy chicken instead of roasted chicken. You can also use a white wine sauce for roast lamb, pork or even fish dishes.

Enjoy your flavorful meal!

One of the great things about this chicken with white wine and fresh herb sauce recipe is that it can be easily customized to fit your taste preferences or dietary restrictions. Here are a few substitutions and variations you can try:

– White wine: Any dry white wine will work for the sauce, but feel free to experiment with different types to see what you like best. Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay are all good choices.

– Fresh herbs: The recipe calls for sage, thyme, and rosemary, but you could also use other herbs like parsley, basil, or tarragon. If you don’t have fresh herbs on hand, you could use dried herbs instead (just reduce the amount by about half).

– Pasta: To make this dish more substantial, try serving it over cooked pasta. Linguine or fettuccine would be great choices.

– Lemon butter: For a tangy twist on the sauce, try finishing it with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a pat of butter.

Tips for Perfect Results

To ensure that your Chicken with White Wine & Fresh Herb Sauce turns out perfectly, I have some helpful tips for you. It’s all about the little things when it comes to cooking, from the ingredients you use to the techniques you employ. Here are some tips that will help elevate your dish to the next level.

Firstly, it’s important to season your chicken properly with salt and pepper. You may also add garlic powder and Italian seasoning for more flavor. On the other hand, if you prefer a bit of heat, you can try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.

When cooking the chicken, make sure that the pan is hot enough before putting the chicken in. This ensures that the chicken will sear properly and develop a crispy skin. It’s also important not to overcrowd the pan with too many pieces of chicken as this will cause them to steam rather than brown beautifully.

Another tip is to let the chicken rest for a few minutes after cooking it. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat and keeps it moist and tender.

It’s also essential to use fresh herbs for your sauce as they add more flavor and aroma compared to dried ones. You can use herbs like sage, thyme, or rosemary in combination or individually depending on preference. Don’t forget that herbs should be added towards the end of cooking so their flavors don’t dissipate.

Lastly, don’t be afraid to experiment with different substitutions and variations. You can try using chicken thighs instead of breasts, or even adding some mushrooms or cream sauce for an extra texture and flavor boost.

By following these tips, you’re sure to impress your guests with this delectable Chicken with White Wine & Fresh Herb Sauce recipe. Enjoy!
